Karl McCartney MP, the Member of Parliament for Lincoln, has welcomed the news announced in the Budget that the tax on bingo will be cut in half. This will benefit Gala Bingo in Lincoln's City centre particularly.
Bingo duty was previously set at the high rate of 20 per cent, but this Budget the Chancellor announced that it would be halved to 10 per cent in order to protects jobs and protect communities.
Karl McCartney MP said:
‘The number of bingo halls has been falling for decades so it is great news that the Chancellor is going to slash the tax on bingo by half. This will help protect jobs in Lincoln and also help a protect communities in our City who enjoy bingo or who are employed in the sector.’
